About Vijayta

14 Years of Healing Through Creativity

My name is Vijayta Jagnani, founder of Let's Take a Moment. I'm a certified art-based therapist and visual art therapy practitioner based in Mumbai — and I've spent the last 14 years helping people understand themselves more deeply through the powerful intersection of psychology and creative expression.

I hold dual master's degrees in Psychology and Human Development, and a certification in Arts-Based Therapy. My approach is warm, non-judgmental and deeply personal — I tailor every session to the unique person sitting (or signing in) in front of me.

I specialise in visual art therapy — using the meditative art of drawing circular patterns to help clients access emotions that words alone can't reach. Over the years, I have worked with individuals dealing with anxiety, grief, burnout, and relationship challenges; with parents navigating the emotional complexity of family life; and with corporate teams looking to build resilience and wellbeing at work.

You don't need to be an artist. You don't need to have the right words. You just need to be willing to begin.

My Approach

Where Psychology Meets Art

I combine evidence-based psychological techniques with expressive arts modalities — particularly visual art therapy, journaling, and free drawing. This integrated approach works because it engages both the thinking mind and the feeling body, creating pathways to healing that talk therapy alone cannot always reach.

Art has a unique ability to bypass the inner critic. When we pick up a pencil or a brush, the logical, defensive part of the mind quiets down — and something more honest emerges. In my sessions, this creative process becomes a doorway to self-understanding, emotional regulation, and lasting change.

🌿

Non-Judgmental

There is no right or wrong way to express yourself in our sessions. I create a space of radical acceptance where every emotion is welcome and every mark on paper has meaning.

🎨

Creative & Holistic

Art bypasses the inner critic and accesses deeper truths. No artistic skill is needed — only openness. I work with the whole person: mind, body, and creative self.

🧪

Evidence-Based

Every technique I use is grounded in psychological research and 14 years of real-world clinical experience. Art therapy is a recognised, evidence-supported form of psychotherapy.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you want to know before booking your first session.

Do I need to be good at art to try art therapy?

Absolutely not. Art therapy is not about skill, talent, or producing beautiful work. It is about using the process of creating — drawing, colouring, painting — as a way to express and explore emotions. Many of my clients have never picked up a paintbrush before. What matters is your willingness to begin.

What qualifications does Vijayta have?

Vijayta holds dual master's degrees — an MA in Psychology and an MA in Human Development & Family Studies — along with a formal certification in Arts-Based Therapy. She has 14 years of clinical and workshop experience working with individuals, NGOs, and corporate clients across Mumbai.

What is visual art therapy?

Visual art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses drawing, painting, and other visual art-making as the primary mode of communication and healing. Vijayta specialises in the use of circular drawing patterns — a meditative, structured form of art that helps clients quiet the mind, access emotions, and build self-awareness over time.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. Sessions are available both in-person in Mumbai and online via video call. Online art therapy is just as effective — you will need basic art materials at home, which I can guide you on before we begin.

How is art therapy different from regular talk therapy?

Talk therapy works primarily through language and verbal reflection. Art therapy adds a creative, non-verbal dimension — which is particularly valuable for emotions that feel difficult to put into words. The act of making art can bypass the inner critic and bring buried feelings to the surface in a gentle, safe way. I often combine both approaches for the best results.

What happens in a trial session?

The ₹500 trial session is a 45-minute introductory session where we get to know each other. I will ask about what brought you to therapy, understand your goals, and introduce you to the art therapy process. There is no pressure to commit to anything — it is simply a chance to see if we are a good fit.
